Our emphasis in patient care is radiology diagnostics of the adult torso, which comprises chest radiology, cardiac radiology, gastrointestinal radiology, genitourinary radiology, musculoskeletal radiology and breast imaging. The division has conventional X-ray and ultrasound machines, multislice CT scanners capable of 64 to 320 slices and 1.5 and 4 Tesla field strength MRI scanners at its disposal.
The Division of General Radiology is integrated into the University Hospital Graz Breast Health Center and offers non-invasive breast diagnostic imaging, image-guided biopsies and wire localization procedures. Radiation oncology including image-guided biopsies of thoracic or abdominal tumors is one of its specializations. Another emphasis is non-invasive cardiac diagnostics using 320-slice CT and MRI.
The uniqueness and the added value of our division are the result of the symbiosis between patient care, research and education. The division is jointly operated by the Medical University of Graz and the Styrian Hospital Association (KAGes). This interdisciplinary cooperation between both providers at the University Hospital Graz site is also reflected on our website. More information on patient care can be found at the University Hospital Graz website.
